BackZurich“Starting a conversation about mental health does not need to be uncomfortable”
13.08.2024Coffee Foundation is a non-profit organization forstering to talk about mental health, envisioning a culture that embraces vulnerability and empowers our loved ones to seek help and support. The foundation is supporting the activities of Heart2Heart.Coffee Foundation is fighting back against judgment and shame with a newly launched campaign powered by The Mental Health Association in Switzerland. They emphasize that we have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak. The people in your village—friends, family, or workmates, including the ‘strong’ ones—all need support sometimes.
According to Coffee Foundation, the people in your village—whether they are family, friends, or colleagues—will not always tell you if something is troubling them. Whether we’d like to admit it or not, everyone wears some kind of mask to hide and protect themselves, concealing their weaknesses, fears, and vulnerabilities.
Society often encourages us to hide our troubles, but Coffee Foundation believes it’s important to make “TAKE FIVE” a part of everyday interactions. “TAKE FIVE” is a call to action for everyone to break the silence in a simple yet profound way by initiating genuine, real conversations.
There is no need to be an expert to talk about mental health. Conversations shouldn’t be daunting—they can be incredibly significant, especially when someone close to you might be struggling in isolation. Coffee Foundation urges you to trust your instincts and reach out if you’re concerned about someone around you.
They believe that sharing conversations can support the people in our communities, our villages, and those around us, fostering an environment of support and understanding.
Coffee Foundation’s vision is simple: mental health should be treated with the same care and compassion as physical health. However, their goals are not so simple—like their tagline “Call Us Crazy” a world with zero stigma, zero shame, zero silence, and zero suicides.
The Mental Health Association and its campaign brand, Coffee Foundation have raised and donated CHF 2000.00 in efforts to content supporting and bring awareness to the Heart2Heart English-speaking crisis line in Switzerland.
