Training program for new Heart2Heart volunteers

We are excited to announce that we are soliciting applications for our next batch of volunteers for our English crisis line. This upcoming cohort will participate in a comprehensive training program running from November 2026 through June 2027.

This course prepares a new team of volunteers to join and strengthen the existing English Heart2Heart (H2H) team, now a core part of Die Dargebotene Hand. Participants learn to handle calls independently on the psycho-social support hotline 143 in English, respond empathetically, build rapport, understand callers’ concerns, and adapt conversations to different needs. The training focuses on supporting English speaking residents in Switzerland with a migration background and familiarizes volunteers with key topics, challenging issues and contact points for callers who speak English. Volunteers will develop a mindful and supportive conversational approach, building on the experience of the existing team, to provide high-quality, empathetic support as call volumes continue to grow.

When you are interested please read carefully the dossier which informs you about the requirements for the training and volunteering for Heart2Heart.

For an application we ask you to complete the form, attach the requested documents and and return it latest by April 30, 2026 to Bindu Oommen-Fernandes (bindu.fernandes@143.ch).
